Latex seals on dry suits have a limited service life due to certain environmental influences, but also depending on the type of storage. Care products such as skin cream also considerably shorten the life of the cuff.
If the seal becomes sticky or shows fine cracks, the seal must be changed.
We offer you high-quality seals from European production, available in 4 sizes which usually correspond to the dry suit size. If you do not know the size of the seal, give us the circumference of the neck as an alternative. Material thickness at the neck area approx. 0.75 mm.
New seals have quite a lot of tension, like to put a night over a small bucket etc. before wearing for the first time and stretch the material so that it becomes softer. If cut beforehand, the seal often expands after a few dives and water can penetrate.
Usually the seal sizes are suitable for men's suit sizes. So Drysuit in L, seals in L. Lady's Sizes usually one number smaller - so Drysuit in L, seal in M. Often there is a number in the seal - check it out.
How do I glue the seal in?
In the networks there is a lot of information about who has tried where. Sometimes with more, sometimes with less success. Be careful, some adhesives will attack the latex.
We recommend (and use in our workshop) the 2K - adhesive from UNITEC Helmsdorf, the HELASTOPAKT 2K with the hardener RFE. As cleaning agent we use solvent LÖSIT MEK from the same company.
You can find these products in our Shop also as an economic combination package with cuff(s) and tape
